Francis Elmer Williams was born in Neb. on October 16, 1922 and joined the 10th Mountain Division as part of Company B, and later with Company D of the 87th Infantry Regiment. He participated in the campaigns on Kiska Island, Alaska, and in Italy. Williams received the Bronze Star medal for his actions during the Apennines and Po River battles in the Spring of 1945.
